Reticulated phyton released back into the wild

The Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), after one of its employees captured a reticulated phyton inside the office vicinity, has turned over the wildlife to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Community Environment and Natural Resources- Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Unit (DENR-CENRO-PAMBCU) of the City of Zamboanga.

The reticulated phyton, a juvenile with a height of 2 feet and weight of .25 kilogram, was assessed and temporarily stored by the DENR-CENRO-PAMBCU at the DENR Wildlife Holding Facility at Pasonanca Natural Park.

After ensuring that the wildlife already acclimatized to the new environment, the reticulated phyton was released back into the wild during the celebration of World Wildlife Day on March 3, 2023 at a place designated for releasing wildlife species, Muruk, Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.
