In celebration of the National Zero Waste Month, the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) conducted an Information, Education and Communication Campaign (IEC) on Solid Waste Management (SWM) to the members of the community of Great Sta. Cruz Island on January 26, 2023.
The activity started with a prayer led by For. Sahac Ahmad of OCENR. During the IEC, Ms. Emma Alipala highlighted the importance of taking care of the environment for the children. After the IEC, personnel of OCENR and members of the community conducted clean-up activity practicing waste segregation.
It can be recalled that the late Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III signed Presidential Proclamation No. 760 dated May 5, 2014 declaring January as National Zero Waste Month.
