OCENR supports PNP tree planting activities

The Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) provided 60 narra seedlings to the personnel of Philippine National Police (PNP) during their conduct of tree planting activity on February 28 at Sitio Muruk, Pasonanca, Zamboanga City. 

The said activity was spearheaded by PCol Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office Director, together with PMaj Alvin D Lepiten, Acting Station Commander of Zamboanga City Police Station 7. Tree planting is one of the PNP’s activities in promoting their core values of “Makakalikasan.” 

Amidst CoVid-19 pandemic, the OCENR supports environmental activities of members of the government agencies, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and other sectors. For the first three months of 2022, the OCENR provided 610 seedlings of forest tree species such as narra, mahogany, lauan, and neem and 2,452 magrove propagules and .98 hectares mangrove planting area with 2 meters x 2 meters planting distance at Masepla, Mampang, this city.
