1,200 mangrove propagules from the OCENR planted

As mangrove reforestation is among the priority program of the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), this office upon request of Micro-Entrepreneur’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MEMPCO) for assistance provided an area and propagules for this tree planting activity.

MEMPCO staff and transport group (PUJ Operators) together with a representative from Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) successfully planted 1, 200 mangrove propagules on February 10, 2021 at Masepla, Barangay Mampang, this City.

Prior to the actual planting, Mr. Edison F. Delos Reyes, an employee of OCENR conducted a short orientation on the proper planting of mangrove propagules and the importance of mangrove as a natural coastal defense.
