PNP through OCENR conduct tree planting activities

Through the assistance of the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), personnel from Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted series of tree planting activities in the City of Zamboanga during the month of February 2021.

Police personnel from Zamboanga City Police Station 8, Police Regional Office 9, Zamboanga City Police Office, Zamboanga City Police Station 7, and 904th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (RMFB 9) participated in the said activities.

February 14, 2021, Zamboanga City Police Station 8 personnel planted 100 mahogany seedlings at Barangay Malagutay. On the same date, Zamboanga City Police Office conducted a mangrove tree planting activity at Masepla, Barangay Mampang with more or less 400 mangrove propagules planted, whereas 904th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (RMFB 9) planted 100 seedlings of mahogany at Cesar Climaco Freedom Park, Barangay Pasonanca, this City.

More or less 1, 300 mangrove propagules were planted by the Police Regional Office 9 at Masepla, Barangay Mampang on February 28, 2021. On the other hand, 50 narra seedlings were planted by Zamboanga City Police Station 7 at Barangay Hall of Pasonanca on the same date.

These activities are part of the PNP’s advocacy in environmental protection and preservation and PNP’s “Makakalikasan” project under the “Plant a Tree Program: The PNP’s New Normal of Disaster Preparedness and Response” of Gen. Debold M. Sinas, Chief of PNP.
