Beng thanks PNP, AFP for efforts in Lingayan’s release

Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday, July 28, cited the police and military authorities in Sulu including the office of Vice Governor Sakur Tan for their efforts that helped ensure the safe release of Zamboangueño kidnap victim Remigio Ligayan Sunday.

Zamboangueno abducted in Sulu freed

Remigio Lingayan, one of the two Zamboanguenos kidnapped in Patikul, Sulu last June was released unharmed in Sulu past 11am yesterday.

His brother-in-law Joselito Gonzales, however, could not be located. He was said to have separated from Lingayan during an encounter between government troops and the rebel group holding them sometime last month.
